A little nailpolish loving

I’ve never been much of a girly girl (5 brothers…) but I’ve recently gotten in to nail polish and painting my nails so they are never unpainted. This is somewhat of a laborious regime I have gotten myself in to, given the fact I chip my nails on the daily and I hate chipped nails. Thankfully the nail polish gods sent OPI to my beauty cabinet because that stuff takes ME at least 2 days to chip.
Not wanting to shell out $20 per bottle of nail polish, I took it to twitter to ask where I could buy nail polish cheaper. The ever helpful twitterbugs directed me to ozsale and it just so happens that they had OPI on sale that very day. I bought 5 new polishes and the week after I was going through the list looking at how close in colour a few are. Oh well, there will be more sales and I will buy more polishes. I bought:
OPI Panda-Monium Pink
OPI – I Don’t Give a Rotterdam
OPI – Sparrow Me the Drama
OPI – An Affair in Red Square
OPI – Manicurist of Seville
Ozsale takes awhile to ship the goods, so I am eagerly awaiting the delivery which should come mid-Feb. I am also keen to try out China Glaze nail polish and Essie nail polish.
What polishes are you loving lately?

What did Rhi do on the weekend? (late edition)

Headed over to Birkenhead point on Saturday to buy new runners so my feet would stop blistering every time I ran. I tried the nike outlet and was faced with slim pickings so headed on over to the New Balance store where I found the perfect pair of airy light runners. It took me until Wednesday to try them out and wow are they good. I have to do a run update (week 2 and week 3 together, I think).

After going through the entertainment book the other week, we came across a deal for Bathers Pavillion in Balmoral. I'd wanted to try the restaurant for a few years so we headed on over on Saturday night. I took the camera but chose to live in the moment (such a 2014 saying) and the camera stayed put in my handbag. Although I don't have evidence in photo form that I actually went to Bathers, I can guarantee that I was indeed there and I can also guarantee that if you ever go there yourself you will not be disappointed. By using the entertainment book we saved $50 on our bill.

I have been told paddle boarding is super fun so I decided Sunday would be the day that I jumped on that band wagon. We took a leisurely one hour drive to Bundeena, hired the board and headed out in the bay. I say up front and S was the rower. I am not huge on deep water, so asked him not to go past the buoys. Go past the buoys he did. I realised how deep it was, how windy it was, how fast we were headed to the ocean and how much seaweed there was all in one second and then I started to panic.

Apparently a few questionable sounds came from my mouth but we made it safely back to shore and I was even calm enough to have a paddle myself.

I don't know about you, but the ocean makes me really tired and the last thing I wanted to do when we got home was cook dinner and I was starving so we went over to Essen in Glebe for Schnitzel. Schnitzel the size of my head to be precise. It was delicious and you never leave the place feeling full. I used another entertainment book voucher (one complimentary main meal when another purchased) so we saved a further $22 or so.

When I am given pepsi max I always think of this meme.
I hope to come back this week with an update of my running (pretty dismal) and maybe post about something other than what I did on the weekend. Truth be told though, I don't do much during the week. I am pretty boring.

Centennial Park and Sugar Daddies

Hello everyone!

I find that I have really great blog weeks and then I follow it up with a really shit blog week. Last week, 4 posts... This week 1! Better 1 than none.

Not too much noteworthy things have been happening around here over the past week. Friday night of last week we traipsed across town to Centennial Park for a dusk walk. That park is so beautiful and if I could live in the exclusive neighbourhood just off to the side of the park (Robertson Road/Martin Road) it would probably be my life made. Ok, maybe not life made but it would be up there in the list of things that would be pretty spectacular. It's a one road in/out type neighbourhood and a trip to the park is not complete without a drive through to look at all the houses I might not ever afford.

We took the camera to have a play and ended up just goofing around as we usually do. S's cousin was also with us and offered to take some photos which is nice because the photos of S and I together are lacking. Not to be mistaken for lack of trying though - I try and S says no.
Saturday was spent at Birkenhead buying runners for S's cousin and then Sunday I was really sick which I feel like I am still recovering from.

The DSLR has a double exposure mode allowing you to take a photo of a person or object and then a photo of something else (leaves etc). We haven't perfected it obviously but I love this picture that S took of me at a park a couple of weeks ago. Funnily, he uploaded it to facebook and got a comment from my Mum asking why he had wrapped me in gladwrap for the photo. I guess she didn't see the big leaves across my body.

S's cousin is currently staying with us and was talking about work and how she would rather just not do it. The same day I was reading the most reliable news website ever news.com.au and came across an article on 'sugar daddies'. I clicked through to the website they were talking about for a laugh and honestly, it is more cringeworthy than laugh worthy. Take a look: https://www.seekingarrangement.com/index.php

I was just skimming through the profiles on my phone before realising you can actually click on the profiles to find out their annual income and net worth. All I am saying is $250,000 net worth doesn't make you a sugar daddy...so if you have to pick one, pick wisely.

What have you all been up to?

Running | Week One

These running posts will serve to hold me accountable for my goal of 300km of running this year and also as something for me to look back on to see if I’ve gotten quicker etc.

So far, I have gone for 2 runs this week. The first run was about 4.3km and the second was right on 4km. I use the Nike running app to track the runs as it tells me each kilometre where I am at and my average speed.

The first run didn’t track properly so I am counting that as a practice as I’d like the app to track my full 300km of running this year. Consequently, I have done one tracked run this week that was 4km long and this was around an oval. I will have to do another run over the weekend to get my average per week distance of 5.5km which is fine as I had planned on 3 runs per week anyway.

Run one – practice – 4km
Run two – 4km | 20 minutes | average of 5 minutes per kilometre

1, 2, 3 #6

1. We are well and truly back in to the new year and to be honest I thought it would be a real drag. So far, so good. Work isn't busy and I am having a great time being productive after some refreshing time off. This year is going to be a good one at work and I am going to put a lot of effort in to learning my job well and hopefully taking the next step towards progression

2. I cut more hair off and well and truly have a bob. I like it and everyone else likes it...it's just a bit too short though. Thank goodness my hair grows fast! It's the shortest it has EVER been and I just love the easy maintenance. For someone that has to do their hair every day (for fear of having a birds nest on my head), a quick blow dry and straighten is bliss. Not sure if I will grow it out or not now. It is always fun to try new hairstyles and I'm glad I decided to go short.

3. Did I mention my bestie got engaged? Well she did and her ring is spectacular. I don't know if I would have a huge amount of fun planning my own wedding (the thought does not really interest me) but I love her bouncing ideas off me. She is going to be a really stunning bride and I can't wait to see her walk down the aisle. It's not hard for her to look stunning though, she's a natural ;-)

Tell me who you are

I love reading blogs and I love connecting with people through social media. I flick through twitter and Instagram a few times a day.

My biggest problem is matching blogs to twitter handles and Instagram accounts. So, please leave a comment with your blog/twitter/Instagram and for good measure bloglovin’ account too if you have one.
Thanks :-)
