Time for a holiday - NZ & Bali

For our delayed honeymoon part 1, S and I decided we’d go skiing in New Zealand next month. Looking at the ski cams, it looks like we won’t be disappointed with the snow. I’m looking forward to some delicious food and great New Zealand wine. If you have any recommendations on places to eat or things to do apart from skiing in Queenstown, let me know.
S was also invited on a joint bucks to Vegas towards the end of the year and my FOMO got the better of me, so I planned my own hens to Bali. Not as glamorous as Vegas, but I think I would prefer sipping cocktails by the pool rather than gambling and whatever other shenanigans go on in Vegas. If you have recommendations for anything that is a must see or must do etc, please let me know as I’ll drive myself crazy researching. We’re based in Seminyak, if that helps!

A mini holiday

We were well overdue for a little family holiday, so I jumped on stayz last week and booked a house down in Culburra Beach for S, Teddy and I. Ted is a huge fan of the beach and loved every minute of having the wide open space to run around in and the water to swim in.

We chose a house that was close to the beach, took some drinks and cooked a couple of BBQ's and had a really relaxing time together. Culburra Beach is about 2.5 hours from Sydney, though it took about 4 hours as there was a bit of holiday traffic and we stopped in Berry for lunch. The beach itself is dog friendly at all times, so it is perfect for a holiday with the pup. Ted was happy to see dogs the whole way along the beach.

Something to be excited about

In Japan, Steve and I will be heading to Hakuba (near Nagano where the 1998 Winter Olympics were held) to go skiing.

On Monday, Steve entered a competition predicting the date the ski slopes would be opened for the season. He said the 24th November, which was about 12 days from when he entered the competition.

I was dubious considering this is what we saw when looking at the snow cams.

Yesterday, a friend we met in Hakuba last year posted on my facebook wall to let me know it was snowing. I thought it would just be a light cover that would melt away. I didn’t have time to check the cameras, so when I got home I had a look.

This is what I saw.
So Steve, perhaps you will win that competition afterall.

Dreaming...

Life has been busy lately. A whirlwind in fact. I am being left behind and I need time out.

Work will be really really busy until the end of July and I can't take any leave until after then. S has started a new job that see's him home later. I have had too much alone time and it is getting to me.

I am so proud of him and I am so thankful for the effort he is putting in so that we can live a happy life. His dreams are big and he is reaching them. I am soooo proud.

I am dreaming of a holiday away from the cold weather, away from work, away from the daily grind. S has no leave and can't come, so I will take some girlfriends instead.

Somewhere I can just relax on a beach, maybe get a tan (ha, I'm too white!), sip cocktails and clear my mind.

Fiji or Bali perhaps. Does anyone have recommendations? Where do you go to 'get away from it all'?

Oh, the dream
